Celebrate 50 Years of the McCleary Historical Society!
Join us at 2 PM on Sunday, March 1st, as we celebrate 50 years of the McCleary Historical Society! What started in 1976 as a small group of local citizens collecting and preserving our history has grown into the McCleary Museum & Event Center we know today.
Come enjoy a short presentation honoring long-time board members who helped keep our history alive, then stick around for refreshments and time to visit with friends and neighbors.
This celebration is free and open to everyone—we hope to see you there!

Reggie Garrett & Christine Gunn
Reggie Garrett & Christine Gunn are a musical duo of unparalleled emotion and virtuosity. Reggie’s lyricism in his explorations of the variety and subtlety of human experience are supported and propelled into flight by Christine’s dynamic and sensuous musicality.
Reggie has performed throughout the U.S. and Canada for a number of years, both solo and with his band Reggie Garrett & the Snake Oil Peddlers. His 2023 album release, “York’s Lament & other stories”, climbed to #5 on national Folk radio charts. Also, “Stagecoach Mary” reached #12 and “So Far Away” topped at #3 (both songs from that album).
Christine has performed widely as a solo artist, creating richly layered musical tapestries with her looping pedal. She is a founding member of Trillian Green, and has performed as an accompanist to hundreds of bands, orchestras, musical theaters and singer-songwriters, both live and recorded.

Sasquatch: Man-Ape or Myth, an afternoon with author and naturalist, David George Gordon
Learn about the Northwest’s mysterious Wild Man of the Woods from the author of The Sasquatch Seeker’s Field Manual (published by Mountaineers Books). Sift through the evidence, both supporting and refuting this fascinating creature’s existence — and share your stories and views.
An experienced naturalist, David George Gordon shares his enthusiasm for Nature through a range of interactive venues, appearing at museums, schools, libraries, garden clubs— you name it. He studied aquatic biology in college and worked at a museum and two public aquariums in the past. He is the author of 23 books. What does “Admission by donation” mean?
When an event cost is listed as “admission by donation” we ask that you make a donation that you are comfortable with in order to attend. We want our community to be able to attend events but also undertand that there are times where funds may be tight and you just don’t have more than a few dollars to spare. Our events range in costs to our organization so whatever you are able to contribute goes towards paying for the performance and future events. If you have an event that you want to attend but are concerned about cost, please reach out to us.
Are you Wheelchair accessible?
Yes! We have multiple disabled parking spots, ramps and one ADA bathroom. Our event center seating is bench seating but we can easily accommodate you and your party. Reach out if you have any questions or if you need to request help ahead of time.

We are working to add more events for you to enjoy. Check back often and follow us on social media for updates to our event schedule.
Tickets are available at the door for events unless otherwise stated. If you prefer to buy tickets in advance not using our online service, you may do so by calling 360-964-0561 or by stopping by during open hours.
