Volunteer at the McCleary Museum & Event Center

The McCleary Museum is 100% volunteer-run. This means every exhibit, every event, and every preserved photograph is the result of neighbors helping neighbors. We are looking for passionate people to join our museum family—no matter your background or how much time you have to give.

Why Join Our Museum Family?

Whether you have one hour a month or one day a week, there is a place for you here. We pride ourselves on our “Zero Barrier” Promise: No experience is needed, we provide all the training, and there are no strict time requirements.

🎓 For Students (High School & College)

  • Earn Community Service Hours: We make fulfilling graduation requirements fun, local, and meaningful.
  • Build Your Resume: Gain unique, real-world experience in archiving, historical research, or digital outreach that stands out to colleges and employers.

☕ For Seniors & Community Members

  • Stay Socially Connected: Join a warm, friendly group dedicated to McCleary. It’s a wonderful way to chat, share memories, and meet new neighbors over a shared project.
  • Purposeful Engagement: Use your lifelong expertise to keep your mind sharp. Whether you are greeting visitors or organizing a collection, your work gives our town’s history a future.
